Manufacturing jobs on the increase

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has today reported a 1.4% increase in output for the first quarter in Manufacturing giving a boost for temporary and permanent Jobs in this sector.

The principle drivers for this increase in output came from plastics and rubber which grew by an impressive 7.4% over the quarter.

This area was closely followed by Tobacco, Food, Beverages and Machinery & Equipment.

Manufacturing Jobs on the Rise

The BBC website has reported that UK Manufacturing jobs are on the Rise.

The report based on the Markit/CIPS Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) ticked up to 56.9 from 56.6 in January, higher than the 56.5 expected by economists. A figure above 50 indicates expansion.

With manufacturing making up around 10% of the UK economy it is widely believed that this increase coupled with strong growth in other sectors will see quarter 1 for the UK grow significantly.

Jobs increasing in Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset

UK to avoid Triple Dip Recession

It has just been announced by the CBI that they expect the UK to avoid Triple Dip Recession by growing 0.3% in the first quarter of 2013.

That comes after the economy shrunk in the last quarter of 2012 by 0.3%, the first period in what some feared might be another six months of negative growth. This was post the Olympic fueled summer of growth.
