Real Time Information Reporting

From 6 April 2013, all employers (except for those with over 5000 employees on their payroll where HMRC has specified a later date between June and September 2013) will have to start reporting PAYE information in real time – Real Time Information reporting or RTI.

HMRC will write to all employers again in February with a final reminder of the steps they need to take to ensure they are ready on 6 April 2013. One of the key lessons from the pilot, which involves 320 employers and 3m employees, was the importance of making sure the payroll data was accurate to prevent submission of the PAYE information to HMRC being rejected. The mandatory data, which needs to be accurate and complete, is: full name, date of birth, gender and address, with National Insurance number only being included where known.

Detailed below are a number of links to useful tools and RTI guidance for employers:

There will be no penalties against employees who send in data late until April 2014, with no penalties for inaccuracies charged for submissions made during the 2012-13 tax year, although penalties may be imposed from the next tax year onwards.

In line with new regulations City Centre recruitment based in Southampton, Bournemouth, Weymouth and Yeovil, have been planning and training behind the scenes and are ready for RTI.

The new RTI regulations will result in information on the hundreds of temporary staff City Centre recruitment supplies jobs for in the Industrial, Engineering, Driving, Catering and Cleaning being downloaded everyday. It has been necessary to not only upgrade our IT systems including our Sage and Tempaid software but also to upgrade our whole telecoms systems with the help of Buy Dorset and Comms.UK. This Telecoms upgrade will ensure we are able to transmit the large amount of data securely and efficiently.
