Our client is seeking TWO Care Allocation Officer (Administration) to join the Dorset Council on a temporary basis (Could lead to a permanent role for the right candidates). You will be based at County Hall, Dorchester. Sourcing Care Packages for people leaving hospital. May include weekend working as and when required.
- Undertake duties of the Care Allocation Team.
- This involves the allocation of care and support, including associated administrative tasks and tracking, for individuals requiring care and support, to either prevent hospital admission or to enable hospital discharge.
- The work will involve booking care and support arrangements, whether domiciliary care at home, reablement or within a care home setting from pre-commissioned short-term care options. This will often require creative thinking to blend the resources available to create support solutions to enable hospital discharge or avoid admission. At times there may be a need to broker care directly from the local market.
This will require the following keys skills:
- Ability to think creatively and work from own initiative
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a broad range of colleagues and providers across the Dorset Integrated Care System.
- Ability to work in an often-pressured environment, subject to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
CV must show:
- Previous office based administrative experience
- If you have worked within care sector would be an advantage but not essential.
- Knowledge of a range of IT systems and their use, including Microsoft word, excel, e-mail
and databases.
- Awareness of service requirements and developments regarding older people, people with a learning disability, mental health needs and or physical disability.
- Excellent written/spoken English.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Ability to build and sustain good working relationships both with colleagues and with
external partners such as Health and providers.
- Ability to retain information and produce accurate/quality work.
- Ability to organise own workload effectively, prioritising tasks and working to tight
deadlines.
Candidates must hold:
- Passport or Birth Certificate with proof of National Insurance
- 2 years previous employment reference history
