Our client is currently seeking an Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. They are located in a rural village between Dorchester and Bridport called Litton Cheney. You will need own transport to get to site. The client produces the cheese from start to finish. Due to the nature of the role you will be flexible in your approach to working and be willing to stay on to complete tasks as and when. The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will work within a team of engineers to provide maintenance cover for the cheese production facility, in addition to the maintenance role, this role may require the candidate to work alongside others to complete in house project works on a minor project basis or provide support and assistance, as required, to the Site project team.

Engineering skills include:

• Qualified to a minimum of NVQ3 in an engineering discipline.
• Time served apprenticeship training.
• General engineering on site with a best in field approach, including measurement and analysis of equipment using predictive maintenance techniques.
• Fault finding to diagnose on plant issues affecting performance.
• Boiler operation and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Operation of cooling towers and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Operation of water treatment systems and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Operation of compressed air systems and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Operation and stocking of the engineering stores.
• Equipment servicing – valves pumps etc. as per the prescribed maintenance plans.

Electrical skills include;

• Qualified to the 18th Edition of the IEE regulations.
• Time served electrical biased apprenticeship training.
• Proven track record of fault finding and fault diagnosis.
• Competency in panel wiring and diagnosis.
• Competency and understanding of safety systems.
• Understanding of the fundamentals automation and process control systems.

The site operates two day shifts and a late shift for engineers with the aim to maximize a healthy work life balance.

The shifts are:

• Early 06.00am – 15.00pm
• Days 07:30am – 16:30pm
• Lates 14:30pm – 23:30pm

CV must show:

• Evidence of previous experience in a similar role must be shown within CV.
• Qualified to the 18th Edition of the IEE regulations.
• Time served electrical biased apprenticeship training.
• Proven track record of fault finding and fault diagnosis.
• Competency in panel wiring and diagnosis.
• Competency and understanding of safety systems.
• Understanding of the fundamentals automation and process control systems.
• Show an aptitude for mechanical engineering
• Previous experience in the dairy or food related industries would be beneficial but not essential.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Must hold:

• Passport or Birth Certificate with proof of National Insurance
