Our client, Dorset Council is seeking ACCOMMODATION & LETTINGS ADMIN, to join them on a temporary basis. The contract is until 18TH Novemever 2022 but they often get extended or you can apply for permanent roles once in place. This role will work in a hybrid way (primarily at home), however some presence in Dorset may occasionally be required for visits and office presence.

The successful candidate will carry out property inspections, inventories, tenancy agreements and responsible for registering deposits. You will require own transport and expense will be paid. This role also requires the candidate to hold a DBS. 

  • To directly manage temporary accommodation so that it is in a permanent lettable state, and report repairs as required and ensure any communal areas are clean and safe this will involve visiting premises whist loan working.
  • To maintain and update comprehensive records in connection with the council’s temporary accommodation stock.
  • To help and encourage and support occupants, alerting Housing Officers and other partners of any housing support need issues that arise.
  • To act as a point of liaison between the councils and stakeholders, to include temporary accommodation landlords, the police and social services.
  • To provide timely, accurate statistics for government returns and other in house statistics on a monthly, or otherwise agreed basis
  • To provide advice to Housing Register applicants and colleagues on matters relating to allocations, bidding, applications and interviewing where necessary. This may include housing register, choice based lettings, housing benefit, specialist housing providers, social housing providers, homeswapper, homebuy, shared ownership and mutual exchanges.
  • To liaise with housing associations regarding adverts and nominations and general queries relating to nominations, allocations, appeals and applicants

CV required, showing the following:

  • Previous experience within a lettings or social housing environment.
  • Proven experience of being able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Proven experience of working within a confidential environment

Must hold:

  • Passport or Birth certificate with National Insurance Number proof
  • Own transport with business insurance
  • An Enhanced DBS
