Bournemouth Wheels Festival

Inaugural Bournemouth Wheels Festival gives boost to Jobs in Bournemouth

This weekend sees the inaugural Bournemouth Wheels Festival take place with an expected boost to Jobs in Bournemouth and Poole.

The Bournemouth Wheels Festival follows in the very successful footsteps of the now well established Bournemouth Airshow.

Both events are free and have been designed to bring in visitors to the coastal resort of Bournemouth during the May and August Banks Holidays. They were thought up and are run by the Bournemouth Borough Council.

The Bournemouth Air Festival, which was established in 2008, attracts over 1.5million visitors to the Coastal town with a massive boost to the local economy just as the summer season comes to its traditional end.

The Wheels festival has been positioned to book end the beginning of the season and give a boost to the local economy at the beginning of the season and give people excuses to see and sample what Bournemouth has to offer.

The three day Wheels festival will take place from Saturday 24th May 2014 until bank holiday Monday 26th May 2014. The festival will focus on both mechanically and human powered wheeled transport including demonstrations from Monster Trucks, Dakar Rally Cars, Classic Cars, BMX’s, super-cars and Military Vehicles to name but a few of the vehicles on show.

Highlights of the show are to include a historic motorbike pier jump to be staged on Saturday and Sunday evening at around 1900.  There will also be wheels themed firework shows on both Saturday and Monday evenings to end those days events.

The event is free to attend and it is expected to attract around 1 million people will descend on Bournemouth from all over the UK and further afield during the 3 days extravaganza.
