Dorset Record Breaker Retires From Paper Round

It has been reported by the BBC website that Ted Ingram, the 92 year old Dorset record breaker has retired from his paper round he started at the age of 22.

Ted is credited with being the oldest paperboy in the world.

The Record Breaker from Winterborne Monkton near Dorchester, Dorset estimates to have delivered in excess of 500,000 papers over his career which started in 1942.

The papers Ted has delivered over this period have reported on such landmark events as the end of World War 2 and the breakout of war in the Falkland Islands.

The Dorset record breaker only took up the paperboy job to supplement his tractor drivers’ income.

At the age of 92 Ted is reported tp have said “My knees are quite bad – it’s time to give it up.”
