So this year City Centre Recruitment are supporting Wave 105’s Kids for Christmas Appeal. This is where businesses and members of the public help fundraise for Mission Christmas, by kindly donating new toys for disadvantaged local children. These are children who will not be having the Christmas’s which I am sure we all grew up with. These toys are then given to local children to open on Christmas Day. We are an Official Drop off point so if you would like to donate a present please come and see us 🙌
This Sunday, Jenny Holt, our senior bookkeeper will be taking part in the Great South Run
in support of Friends Of Picu.
Friends of Picu fund raise to buy equipment, fund major projects and help towards buying a new ambulance for the Children’s Intensive Care unit at Southampton General Hospital. Caring for critically ill children from the south of England and Channel Islands.
In November 2017 Jenny and her family directly benefited from the fundraising efforts of Friends of Picu, when Jenny’s grandson Thomas at only 5 weeks old began having breathing difficulties at home one morning.
Thomas was taken to Winchester A&E and found to have a life threatening congenital heart defect. He was sedated and quickly moved by a Friends of Picu sponsored ambulance to Southampton PICU where he received lifesaving surgery that same evening.
Jenny, along with 2 other members of the City Centre team have also benefited from the amazing work that the Southampton PICU do on a daily basis and will always be grateful to them.
We are really proud of Jenny for undertaking this challenge in support of a great cause and
we wish her the best of luck on Sunday! If you would like to show your support for Jenny and the Friends of Picu charity you can do so via the following link
